Level Eleven

AUTUMN: Well, that’s at least one member of the board that we’ve impressed.
ADDISON: One down, two to go.
AUTUMN: Hey, just remember that even if we only get two on our side, that’ll still be enough to take the vote! And I’ve got even more good news… my dad’s out of town for the weekend, and he’s letting me have friends over for a slumber party!
PAYTON: Oh. Em. Gee. I am SO in! I’ll buy new pajamas and everything!
MIA: I’m always down for a good slumber party…
AUTUMN: How about you, Julian? Want to come over?
JULIAN: Uh, are you kidding? What are we going to do, sit around doing our nails, having pillow fights and talking about our feelings? Besides, I’m hitting up a horror movie marathon with Nishan.
NISHAN: Yes. That is a thing we are doing. Of our own free will.

AUTUMN: Your loss. How about you, Addison? Want to come?

[ Have 1 Upgraded Nerd Hangout | None | 3650xp ]

NISHAN: Addison! Autumn! I’ve got big news! I was able to contact the second board member, Professor Edwin. She’s the youngest head physicist to win the Quantum Award for Scientific Discovery! She did something with portals and cakes… I don’t remember the details. Anyway, she asked if our school has any science events coming up that she could attend!
ADDISON: That’s great!
AUTUMN: Uh, DO we have any events?
NISHAN: Not yet, but I was thinking we could have a science fair! It’ll be a good way to get the whole school involved! I already have an idea for my project… but it’s going to be ambitious. Very ambitious. It’s something I always wanted to do at Hearst, but could never get permission… You know that many science fairs feature a model volcano, right?
ADDISON: Yeah, I’ve heard of that. Isn’t that a little basic?
NISHAN: Not when you’re constructing a gravity-accurate Venusian Vapor Volcano!
ADDISON: Is that really a thing?
NISHAN: Well, this will simulate what one WOULD be like. I want it to be a perfect predictor of what life will be like for the terraforming future colonists of Venus when they go too far and destabilize the planet.
AUTUMN: Oooh! I can help with that. You’re going to need someone to make the tiny trees and miniature people, right?
NISHAN: Well, tiny terra-forming mist trees and miniature space settlers…
AUTUMN: Close enough!
ADDISON: Should I be worried?
NISHAN: Let’s just say that if you can clear out some room around here, it’ll help. And some funding will also be required…

[ Add a plot of land, Spend 80000 coins | None | 3650xp ]

NISHAN: There! The Venusian Vapor Volcano is done! The enclosed environment is the closest possible replication of the planet Venus.
ADDISON: Wow… it’s taller than I am!
AUTUMN: And everything is done perfectly to scale! I made the vapor trees out of unraveled cotton swabs, and I even made a tiny, hermetically sealed settlement with tiny space colonists! That’s Kai… and that’s his wife Amy. They fled the oppression and poverty of future-Earth when the water rations were reduced for the second time.
NISHAN: Anyway, when we set it off, it’ll show what we can expect early space settlers to face as they terraform other planets! Professor Edwin is DEFINITELY going to be impressed! Now, if we’re going to have a real science fair, we’d better get more people to make projects. We just have to explain to them how even simpletons can enjoy science!
ADDISON: Um, maybe I’ll do the talking… let’s start with Julian. Hey! Julian! Can you help us out for a minute? We’re looking for more people to help us with the science fair.
JULIAN: Uh, really? You know I’m not like a rocket surgeon or anything…
NISHAN: I can help you! We just have to come up with an interesting premise. How about analyzing the science of arm wrestling?
JULIAN: And what does that mean?
NISHAN: You could arm-wrestle three opponents and analyze the physics involved!
JULIAN: This is the moment I was born for.

[ Addison, A Level 5+ Gamer, A Level 5+ Student Gov (Kennedy, Hadly) | 6h | 2250c, 3650xp ]

KENNEDY: Hey, Addison! You said we could help with the science fair?
ADDISON: That’s right! Julian needs some subjects for his project.
HADLEY: Every generation has a great battle… perhaps this is ours.
JULIAN: What about you, Addison?
ADDISON: I’ll help!
JULIAN: Okay, who wants to go first?
KENNEDY: I will! This is just like a boss fight! I’ve got to assess Julian’s weak points and target him there…
JULIAN: Uh, sure. Ready? 1… 2… 3!
Julian slams Kennedy’s hand onto the table!
KENNEDY: I thought this was turn-based!
Next, Hadley and Julian get into position…
JULIAN: Ready?
HADLEY: Wait! Let’s talk about this for a minute. Maybe brute force isn’t the best way to resolve this situation.
JULIAN: Huh?
HADLEY: Maybe we can reach a diplomatic solution that works for everyone!
JULIAN: Yeah, but that’s still not as fun as actually arm wrestling. Ready, set. go!
Julian slams Hadley’s hand onto the table!
ADDISON: I guess it’s my turn…
JULIAN: Heh. This should be fun.
Julian grabs your hand and signals for the match to begin!
ADDISON: (Whoa! Julian is strong! I’m not going to last long…) Hey, is that Autumn over there in a bikini?!
JULIAN: Huh? Where?!
You take advantage of Julian’s moment of distraction and slam his hand down!
ADDISON: I won!
JULIAN: Wait, where’d Autumn go? What kind of bikini? WHAT KIND OF BIKINI?!
ADDISON: Sorry… it was just a trick.
JULIAN: What?!
ADDISON: Hey, you never said it was against the rules…
JULIAN: Yeah, yeah. But don’t go thinking this REALLY counts.
NISHAN: Ahem! Winning or losing isn’t the point of this experiment! Julian, you were supposed to be studying the physics of arm wrestling.
JULIAN: Yeah, yeah. I’m on it. The elbow acts as a fulcrum. Then you have the force coming from the bicep. The oppositional force is your opponent! The whole point is to see whose bicep fails first. I’ll draw up some diagrams or something.
NISHAN: That’s… actually all pretty good. Good work, Julian! Payton! Have you done a science fair project yet?
PAYTON: I… um… er…
NISHAN: I’ll take that as a ‘no’. I really need you to do this, Payton. Getting the whole school on board is our only shot at impressing Professor Edwin… And I shouldn’t have to remind you how important it is that we impress these board members!
PAYTON: I’m sorry! It’s just that I’ve been so busy planning a party I haven’t had time to work on science.
ADDISON: Hey, there’s no reason you can’t combine the two. We just have to come up with an experiment that ties into partying.
PAYTON: You can do that?
NISHAN: Science is about the study of life! Experiments are driven by what we’re passionate about exploring.
PAYTON: Well, that doesn’t sound so bad… I’m in!

[ Complete a Party with a Jock and a Dancer, Complete a Party with a Cheerleader and a Filmmaker, Complete a Party with a Prep and an Actor | None | 3650xp ]

NISHAN: So, Payton, how’s the project coming?
PAYTON: Great! I’m studying the psychology and physiology of partying. Dancing releases endorphins! Different colored decorations impact mood! Sugary snacks produce a spike in energy, then a crash! As a side not, I’ve also discovered that EVERY game of Truth or Dare ends with someone crying, but I haven’t figured out how to work that in yet…
NISHAN: I think we have enough projects now to field a respectable science fair.
ADDISON: Then let’s get started!
NISHAN: Excellent. I’ll extend an invitation to Professor Edwin.

[ Addison, Nishan | 8h | 4500c, 3650xp ]

PROF. EDWIN: I have to admit, when I heard about your school, I was skeptical. The faculty presence is almost non-existent… But it seems you have everything well-managed here.
NISHAN: I think you’ll find that our school is a shining example of efficiency and organization. Now, let me show you around the science fair. Over here, we have Julian’s experiment…
JULIAN: My project examines the science behind the common question, ‘Can Anyone Beat Me At Arm-Wrestling?’ Conclusion: Only dirty cheaters.
PROF. EDWIN: A very… non-traditional approach…
NISHAN: Just wait until you see the rest of what we have! And in this corner… is Mia’s analytical study…
MIA: Here you can see that I’ve graphed attractiveness versus popularity, and I also have charts comparing household income to quality of clothing!
ADDISON: And Payton has extensively researched the science of partying.
PAYTON: I’m working on creating a perfect party… the right combination of snacks, music, decorations, and dancing!
PROF. EDWIN: I must say, this is an impressive level of participation from the school. A little unorthodox… But it’s delightful to see so many students involved!
ADDISON: There’s still one project left to show you, Professor Edwin!
NISHAN: This over here is the pinnacle of our science fair… literally… the Venusian Vapor Volcano!
PROF. EDWIN: A surprising twist on the classic. I assume it’s fully operational?
NISHAN: Of course! Let me merely activate it, and…
The volcano rumbles… shakes… And then violently explodes, erupting in paint and goop that splatters all over the room… AND all over Professor Edwin!
NISHAN: What? No! How… how could this happen! This is impossible!
PROF. EDWIN: Impossible? It’s clearly not impossible. What this is… it’s… simply appalling! Does this school have no regard for safety?!
NISHAN: I… I…
PROF. EDWIN: Good day, sir.
NISHAN: But--
PROF. EDWIN: I said good day!
Professor Edwin storms off!
AUTUMN: This is a disaster.
NISHAN: I just don’t understand. This shouldn’t have happened. It COULDN’T have happened!
ADDISON: Come on. We need to buy some supplies to clean up this mess. If we sort through the wreckage, maybe we can figure out what went wrong.

[ Spend 100000 coins | None | 3750xp ]

MIA: Yuck. I can’t believe Nishan ruined the science fair.
NISHAN: It wasn’t my fault!
ADDISON: Calm down, everyone.
MIA: Don’t tell me to calm down! I made charts! I actually did WORK for this! And then his weird volcano ruined everything!
NISHAN: My measurements were perfect! I conducted three trials to ensure no amount of error would creep in! I didn’t even use any elements that could cause this kind of reaction!
ADDISON: Wait a second… I just found burnt-up firecrackers at the bottom of the volcano. Nishan, did you put firecrackers in the lava-mist?
NISHAN: Of course not! The volcanic eruption is a chemical reaction, not the result of firecrackers…
MIA: Then maybe it was Autumn’s fault! She’s the one that painted it and everything! Maybe she used explosive ink!
AUTUMN: All I did was decorate it! And that’s not even a thing!
ADDISON: Stop it, everyone! We need to focus and come together, not get distracted by blaming each other!
WES: Addison is right. Seems like you’re all forgetting what’s really going on here.
AUTUMN: Huh? Wes? Where did you come from?
WES: That’s not important. I’m just here to remind you who your REAL enemy is.
ADDISON: ...Max and Kara. They did this.
NISHAN: They… they ruined my volcano!
MIA: This is about more than your stupid volcano! They ruined the whole school’s chance to impress Professor Edwin!
WES: It’s not over yet. There are THREE members of the board. You need to impress two out of the three to win the vote. Since you just sprayed one with goop, it’s safe to say you’re not getting HER vote. But you’ve still got one last chance to save your school… you just have to make sure you don’t mess up with this final board member.
ADDISON: You’re right. That means we’ve still got a shot at saving our school!

Level Ten

Later, back at your school…
AUTUMN: Hey! Addison! I’ve got big news! I found out more about Max’s plan to shut down our school. The school inspection is going to be conducted by three members of the state board. And I even found out who one of the board members is! Mr. Kernsprickle, the President of the local Actors’ Guild!
ADDISON: So… what does that mean?
AUTUMN: It means we’ve got an edge! We know what he cares about… performing arts! We’ve just got to do something to impress him…
ADDISON: So we put on a play and then invite him?
AUTUMN: Exactly!

[ A Level 4+ Actor (Laurie) | 4h | 2100xp ]

LAURIE: Okay, Addison. Autumn told me the situation. We can pull this off, but it isn’t going to be easy. We don’t have enough actors, so we’ll definitely need to recruit from other cliques to fill all the roles.
ADDISON: I’ll call everyone together for a meeting. I bet we can find some people who are willing to help! Thanks for coming, everyone.
PAYTON: Of course. Just let us know what we can do to help.
MIA: Yeah, I’m in.
NISHAN: And my axe!
JULIAN: Uh, yeah… and you can count on me. Whatever it takes.
AUTUMN: Aww! Thanks, guys! Julian, I didn’t picture you as the drama club type.
JULIAN: Well, I’m a sucker for a good fight, and if protecting our school from Max’s plan means putting on girl tights and prancing around, I guess I’m in. I’m uncomfortable, but I’m in.
LAURIE: This is going to be fantastic! But… what play should we perform?
AUTUMN: I heard that Kernsprickle LOVES Shakespeare. He was even spotted tearing up at a recent production of ‘Romeo and Juliet’...
ADDISON: Then that sounds like our play.
LAURIE: ‘Romeo and Juliet’ will be perfect! Mia, you can help direct the actors.
MIA: Sure. I love bossing people around.
LAURIE: Julian, you can be our fight-scene coordinator. I bet you can choreograph a cool sword fight.
JULIAN: I’m on it.
LAURIE: ‘Romeo and Juliet’ has amazing opportunities for backgrounds and costumes.
AUTUMN: I can get started on those! But… I need some room to paint, some funding for supplies, and a little artistic backup.

[ Add a plot of land, Have 2 Artists, Spend 15000 coins | None | 2100xp ]

AUTUMN: Awesome! The sets are really coming along. See this balcony? As of today, it can actually hold an actress without collapsing!
ADDISON: That seems… important.
AUTUMN: And I’m going to drape it with some flowering vines… perfect for yonder light to break softly through!
ADDISON: Nice! Hey, Julian. How’s the fight scene coming?
JULIAN: Awesome! I just need some stuntmen who aren’t afraid to bleed a little.
ADDISON: Well, I’ll help you find people, but let’s not phrase it that way…

[ Julian, A Level 6+ Classmate, A Level 6+ Classmate (Finley, Kennedy) | 6h | 2000c, 2100xp ]

KENNEDY: So, um, these swords aren’t sharp, are they?
JULIAN: Of course they’re sharp, that’s the whole point. They’re swords.
FINLEY: Uh oh…
ADDISON: Julian, just try not to damage any of the cast…
JULIAN: No promises!
KENNEDY: Have at thee!
FINLEY: Scoundrel!
Julian parries Finley’s slash and plunges his sword under Kennedy’s arm.
JULIAN: Avast, matey! Yee’ve breathed yer last!
ADDISON: Um, that’s a little more pirate… but this fight looks awesome.
MIA: Addison, there’s something off about the acting for the play. It’s just not filled with enough romance and heartache and longing! ‘Romeo and Juliet’ is supposed to be about an eternal, passionate love… and the total tragedy of losing that! Do you understand what I’m saying?!
ADDISON: I get it, it’s serious stuff. But what can we do?
MIA: Have you ever heard of ‘method acting?’ It’s when actors immerse themselves in the roles they’re trying to portray. What these actors need is some real-world love and despair!

[ Complete a Date, Break a Couple Up | None | 2100xp ]

MIA: That was some major drama! But I was right about the actors. Have you seen the latest rehearsals? The actors are delivering their lines perfectly! You can really believe everything they say!
ADDISON: Well, let it never be said that they didn’t sacrifice for their art… Uh, well, I--
PAYTON: Hey! Addison, what’s the deal with this Shakespeare guy? I thought this was supposed to be a love story, but how can you make any sense of it? ‘Cast by their grave besseming ornaments, to wield old partisans, in hands as old, canker’d with peace, to part your canker’d globbity barble gloop blargh!’
ADDISON: Payton, that’s just how people talked in Shakespeare’s day.
PAYTON: It’s all ‘thee’ and ‘thou’ and biting thumbs at people! It’s like these people don’t even know how to speak English. OMG, totes ridic, am I right?
ADDISON: It IS English, but you do have a point. Maybe we can find an actor to help explain it.

[ Payton, A Level 5+ Actor (Laurie) | 6h | 2100xp]

LAURIE: Hey, I heard you’re having some trouble understanding the works of the Bard…
PAYTON: Uh, if you mean this script, yeah, it’s written all wrong.
LAURIE: Perhaps I can shed some light on this situation. Three civil brawls, bred of an airy word, by thee, old Capulet, and Montague, have thrice disturb’d the quiet of our streets.
PAYTON: And that means what now?
LAURIE: Capulet and Montague have been fighting over insults, and the Prince is sick of it!
PAYTON: Ohhh! Like when a girl overhears a cheerleader calling her shoes ugly, so she calls the cheerleader out in front of everyone at lunch the next day, and the two of them get in a fight, and she ends up throwing mashed potatoes in the cheerleader’s hair?
LAURIE: That’s… oddly specific… but yes. Close enough. I think everyone’s ready…
AUTUMN: The sets are done, Julian’s fight scene is ready, and everyone knows their lines. What’s left?
LAURIE: We’ll still need some nice decorations to use as a set!

[ Have 6 Balloons, Have 20 Brick Paths, Have 3 Trees | None | 2100xp ]

ADDISON: How’s the set working out?
AUTUMN: It’s perfect! And not a moment too soon. Mr. Kernsprickle just arrived, and he’s in the front row! It’s time for the show! Every seat in the house is filled!
ADDISON: Are we ready for the curtain to go up?
AUTUMN: Just about! We only need to make sure Romeo and Juliet are in their places!

[ A Guy Classmate, A Girl Classmate (Finley, Hadley) | 4h | 2100xp ]

HADLEY: I’m so nervous! I can’t believe it’s time!
FINLEY: We’ll be fine… All right, the curtain’s coming up! Let’s go! But, soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.
HADLEY: O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name. Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and I’ll no longer be a Capulet.
FINLEY: I take thee at thy word: call me but love, and I’ll be new baptized; henceforth I never will be Romeo.
Finley passionately kisses Hadley! The audience applauds! Later, at intermission…
ADDISON: Well, we made it to intermission… and everything’s going great!
AUTUMN: Actually… we’ve got a crisis! Some people were sitting next to Kernsprickle, and he was complaining about how much he prefers MUSICALS!
ADDISON: What?!
PAYTON: We’ve got to add some music in, fast!
ADDISON: We can do this. They do it every week on Glee, don’t they? Go find some music. I’ll get some dancers to help choreograph a new finale!

[ Have 2 Dancers | None | 2100xp ]

AUTUMN: Okay, the dancers are here! I explained that we need an exciting new musical finale, fast.
ADDISON: And they can do it?
AUTUMN: They’re going to try! But we’re all going to have to help out and join in. Well, intermissions over…
PAYTON: Time to see if we can pull off this big musical number.
ADDISON: With no rehearsal time and a packed house? What could possibly go wrong?

[ Addison, An Actor, A Level 5+ Dancer (Riley, Sheridan) | 7h | 4000c, 2100xp ]

ADDISON: The curtain’s going up!
SHERIDAN: Gulp!
RILEY: Let’s go!
The curtain parts, revealing the bodies of Romeo and Juliet, lying tenderly side by side… When a resounding, big band orchestra kicks in, playing a jaunty musical tune! Addison and Riley burst into song, as a chorus of dancers emerge from behind the curtains!
RILEY: Romeo drank poison, and now he’s dead!
ADDISON: And next to him, Juliet’s blood’s shed!
RILEY: So much for that guy’s cocky swagger!
ADDISON: Who gave that crazy girl a dagger?!
RILEY: You’ve never heard more a tale of woe…
ADDISON: So rise and shout ‘Hashtag YOLO’!
RILEY: What?! I mean… uh… hashtag YOLO?
Sheridan twirls onto the stage with a series of epic flips! You lunge into your final poses, and the crowd bursts into applause!
AUTUMN: So I know this last-minute finale was stressful… But it paid off! I heard from someone sitting next to Kernsprickle that he loved it!
ADDISON: Awesome!
AUTUMN: He said he wished more schools would follow our example and create new interpretations of the classics!
PAYTON: That’s the best news ever! Let’s celebrate at the after-party!
ADDISON: After-party?
PAYTON: Um, yeah! Of course! Every play has an amazing after-party. That’s the only reason to be in a school play!
ADDISON: I don’t think that’s the ONLY reason…
PAYTON: Didn’t you hear me? I said PARTY!

[ Complete a Party with an Actor | None | 2100xp ]

[ Have 1 Nerd Hangout, Have 1 Artist Hangout | None | 400c ]

MORGAN: Addison! Take five for a quick chat?
ADDISON: Sure, what’s up?
MORGAN: Here’s the pitch. I’ve been wanting to make a horror movie for forever, but I couldn’t find any help at my last school… everyone said it would be way too scary!
ADDISON: Isn’t that the point?
MORGAN: That’s exactly what I told them! Now that I’m at this school, do you think I’d be able to direct my dream project?
ADDISON: I don’t see why not…
MORGAN: Addison, you’re the best! Thanks for helping!
ADDISON: I didn’t exactly say that I’d help…
MORGAN: Sure, you did! You help everyone! That’s your whole gimmick! Besides I can guarantee you 15 percent net after recoupment of upfront expenditures.
ADDISON: I’m not sure what that means…
MORGAN: Let’s cut to the chase. In order to make my movie, we’ll need to upgrade the AV lab with better cameras and editing equipment. Think you can make that happen?

[ Spend 9000 coins, Level Morgan | None | 25b ]

MORGAN: HD cameras with variable frame rates! Non-linear editing systems with hundreds of different scene transitions… I… I didn’t know I could be so happy! And I once stood in line next to Joss Whedon!
ADDISON: So you like the new AV lab equipment?
MORGAN: Like it? I love it! Let’s do lunch!
ADDISON: ...lunch?
MORGAN: It’s what everyone in Hollywood says! Now that we’ve got our equipment squared away, it’s time to work on our story…
ADDISON: Shouldn’t that have been the first thing?
MORGAN: Friday the 13th! Nightmare on Elm Street! Scream! Those movies are so iconic because their villains are cool. We need something just as brilliant, only… I’m totally blanking on what that totally brilliant villain ought to be…
ADDISON: Oh! I know. You should have a… Psycho ghost clown!
MORGAN: Ooh! Great choice! What’s scarier than a clown? How about a clown that’s already dead? ...and CRAZY? It’ll be a three-ring circus of carnage! Here! Put on these polka-dotted pants and this curly wig! We’ll finish your make-up on the way…
ADDISON: ME? I’m supposed to play the monster?
MORGAN: Who else has the talent, the grit, and let’s face it, the willingness to play this role?
ADDISON: ...just me.
MORGAN: Yep! Now to film our first scene… I picture someplace isolated, where two unsuspecting cheerleaders can practice their new routine.

[ Have 2 Cheerleaders at Level 4+ | None | 600c ]

MORGAN: ...and ACTION!
ADDISON: DO YOU WANT A BALLOOooOOooN?!
The cheerleaders scatter in terror!
MORGAN: Perfect! I loved how you leapt out from behind the bushes and then drooled all oveer the place like a rabid wolverine! That’s exactly the right energy to bring to your performance!
ADDISON: Um… those cheerleaders ran away and never came back. Did they know about the film shoot?
MORGAN: ‘Know’ is a pretty ambiguous term… What matters is, you were absolutely amazing! Once this movie is filmed, nobody will be able to think about psycho ghost clowns without thinking of you.
ADDISON: That’s… great…
MORGAN: Now in the next scene, our scary monster is getting even closer to the school… Stakes are raised! Tension is ratcheted up! I’m thinking it should leap out and scare a couple on a date!

[ Addison, Morgan, A Girl Classmate who is Crushing with someone (Cameron) | 6h | 800c ]

CAMERON: So what am I supposed to do to help you again?
MORGAN: Nothing! Just act naturally!
ADDISON: Morgan, I think you should tell her…
MORGAN: Fine. Cameron, just hang out with your significant other like you always do, and the monster attacks… er, I mean, and IF something UNUSUAL were to happen, just react naturally while I film it!
CAMERON: So there’s a monster…?
ADDISON: Is that a problem?
CAMERON: No! It’s awesome! Who doesn’t love horror movies?
MORGAN: And… ACTION!
CAMERON: I sure am having a lovely time on this date, with no monsters anywhere! Maybe we should go make out?
ADDISON: DO YOU WANT A BALLOOooOOooN?!
CAMERON: No! I was wrong! A monster just leapt out at us, and it’s much more horrible and awesome than other monsters… AAAAIIIIIEEEEE!!!
MORGAN: OMG! Perfect! That terrified shriek will haunt my dreams… in a good way!
ADDISON: So you go the shot you wanted?
MORGAN: Did I ever! If the Academy didn’t shun genre films, I’d be holding an Oscar for cinematography right now! We’re almost at the end… and every good horror movie has a big climax at a raging celebration!
ADDISON: Cool! So we’re going to a party?
MORGAN: Way better! We’ll lurk outside a party until it ends, and then you’ll hurl ectoplasm cream pies at people as they leave!

[ Complete a Party with Morgan, Have 8 Different Types of Classmate | None | 1000c ]

MORGAN: Okay, Addison! You’re a psycho ghost clown attacking the party! Now drool everywhere, and say your tag line!
ADDISON: ONE BALLOON NOT ENOUGH? HAVE A WHOLE BUUuuUUuuNCH!
MORGAN: Yes… look at all the partygoers scatter! This sequence is going perfectly! It’s like the beginning of Superbad meets the end of Scream!
ADDISON: So… Superscream?
MORGAN: I’m still working on the title! Good job, Addison! The film’s almost finished! All that’s left is to find an actress to square off against the monster in the final scene… We’ll need someone beautiful but tough… strong but demure… a riddle written on a napkin left inside an open book… But mostly, we just need a leading lady willing to get a lot of goop flung at her!

[ Addison, Morgan, A Level 3+ Girl Actor (Riley) | 10h | 5r ]

MORGAN: Riley, glad to have you aboard!
RILEY: My pleasure! Anything to put another extracurricular on my college application!
ADDISON: Well, this movie is definitely… something…
MORGAN: Riley, in this scene, you’ll hide behind that dumpster. When the monster attacks, you’ll leap out and pretend to shoot it with this flare gun!
RILEY: ...it’s not loaded, right?
MORGAN: Of course not! That’d be really dangerous! We’ll create the monster’s reaction in post-production…
ADDISON: Cool! Like some kind of amazing visual effect?
MORGAN: Oh… I was going to make you react by poking you with this wooden post I found… but a visual effect does sound like a better idea! Actors, find your places! Take one… and ACTION! Okay, this is it… the big finale of the movie… Riley, dig deep within yourself and find the strength to banish the monster!
RILEY: I got the joke, you evil clown… It just wasn’t FUNNY!
ADDISON: NOOoooOOOooo!!!
MORGAN: ...and CUT! Print it! That’s a wrap, people! Thank you for all of your help!
ADDISON: Cool! So the movie is done filming? When can I see it?
MORGAN: There’s a bit more work left. I still need to edit it together, loop dialog, overlay the soundtrack, add in sound effects, then color correct the visuals…
ADDISON: That sounds like a lot of work!
MORGAN: Not really. I’ll have a version right after school! So what did you think of the finished film?
ADDISON: There were thrills, chills… and some really gross monster effects! Basically… it was awesome!
MORGAN: Thanks for all your help, Addison. I couldn’t have made this movie without you.
ADDISON: Any time!
